Information we collect

We may collect account details, role and membership information, lesson activity, billing status, support messages, and basic device or browser information needed to make the site work reliably.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate users, provide access to lessons and manuals, process billing, send account and support emails, measure site performance, and improve the learning experience.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with service providers that help us run the app, including hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Parts of Montessori Digital Studio are used directly by children under 13 through student logins created by a parent, teacher, or school administrator. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and this section is our direct notice of what we collect from child users and why.

What we collect from child users

A child's profile contains only what the supervising adult enters: a display name, an optional student code, and a login id and password. While a child uses the platform we record lesson activity and assessment results tied to that profile, and (solely to keep accounts secure and the service working) technical session data such as IP address, browser type, and login times. We do not ask children for their email address, phone number, photo, precise location, or any other contact information, and we do not retain audio. Voice-based activities use the browser's built-in speech recognition to hear a child's answer; spoken audio is processed for recognition only and is never stored by us.

How it is used and who can access it

Information collected from child users is used only to provide lessons, track learning progress for the supervising adult or school, and maintain security. It is never used for marketing or behavioral advertising, and third-party advertising or analytics services are not loaded during child sessions. The service providers (operators) that process this data on our behalf are Supabase (database hosting) and Vercel (application hosting). Each processes child data only to run the platform.

Consent and parental rights

Child profiles are created only by a parent, or by a school that has confirmed in writing that it is authorized to consent to this collection on parents' behalf for educational purposes. A parent (or the school, on a parent's request) may at any time review the information held about a child, ask us to delete the child's profile and its activity records, or refuse further collection by deactivating the profile. Deleting a profile does not affect the adult's account. To exercise these rights, use the school account tools in the app or contact us at the address below; we will verify the request and respond promptly. We retain child data only as long as the profile is active or as needed to meet legal obligations.
